This two-hour 100% online workshop, delivered via Zoom, will help you establish the fundamentals of character development in horror writing
It’s aimed at anyone interested in creative writing for horror fiction, whether you’ve done any previous writing before or are a complete beginner.
What will I gain?
By the end of the session you’ll have built confidence in your writing skills and have some new ideas to develop a monster or character and further pursue your horror writing.
Tutor Profile: Charlotte Baker is an author and an associate lecturer and PhD student at the University of Derby.
She has over thirty fictional and nonfictional publications.

What you'll study
During the workshop you will:
- examine the attributes of the monster and characters in horror
- take part in a dynamic group discussion on effective character development
- consider how to make your character resonate with the audience
- complete writing tasks from prompts
- gain feedback on your writing style.
