Nottingham Business School (NBS) is proud to have achieved the prestigious EQUIS accreditation. This is the highest international benchmark of excellence for business schools possessed by fewer than 180 schools out of 16,000 worldwide.
The accolade recognises the School’s rigorous and innovative standards of teaching and research, which are at the heart of our mission to combine academic excellence with impact upon business and society, developing responsible business leaders.
Institutions that are accredited by EQUIS have demonstrated exceptional quality in all dimensions of their activities and have a high degree of internationalisation and evidence of integrating sustainability throughout their activities.
Concluding an excellent year for Nottingham Business School, this achievement closely follows our AACSB accreditation in 2016, and rankings this year in the Financial Times' top 95 European business schools and top 95 Masters in Management programmes globally.
EQUIS and AACSB accreditation – what it means for you
Currently, only 19 UK institutions hold both EQUIS and AACSB accreditation. NBS has entered elite company with this accolade, whilst continuing to provide the inclusive learning environment of a leading modern university. The EQUIS accreditation reflects our commitment to providing business and management education that is:
- personalised to our students' individual needs and ambitions
- experiential, with placements, internships, industry projects and opportunities to study and work abroad all engaging directly with the sector
- internationalised, with an embedded focus on global practice, partnerships with 110 institutions around the world, and a staff and student community hailing from over 100 different countries
- sustainable, with a responsible business ethos pervading everything we do.
Professional, impactful, sustainable – recognition for our learning culture
Our mission is to deliver education and research that combines academic excellence with impact upon business and society. The EQUIS accreditation acknowledges NBS’ overarching culture and ethics, and not just our degree programmes – from the hundreds of extracurricular events we host each year, to our community outreach initiatives, and an interface and level of engagement with the business world that is unprecedented at this scale.
Fewer than 1% of business schools worldwide have both EQUIS and AACSB accreditation.
