“The food industry is often overlooked and students are not aware of the great opportunities and diversity there is within the food sector. With advancements in technology and a growing need for food this is an excellent industry to be in. The course has equipped me with the scientific principles and practical knowledge that will allow me to progress in my career.
“The course tutors are very supportive, knowledgeable and informative, especially since many have worked in the food industry themselves. The experience and knowledge that the tutors have is reflected in the quality of their teaching.
“I was limited with the choice of food courses that offered part-time learning as I was working full-time. After looking at a few universities I came across this course on the NTU website and read that the course was industry focused which suited me being at work. It means that I can work four days a week and attend university for one day.
“I particularly enjoy the way the modules are run and the variety that are on offer. They typically involve a session on the theory which is followed by a session on the practical, allowing knowledge that is taught in class to be put into practise in the lab. The modules include a range of topics from Biochemistry and Legislation to New Product Development and Manufacture”
