“I chose to study this course at Nottingham Trent University due to the way the course is taught and how I thought I would fit in at the University. I was aware of the good reputation that NTU has which also made me want to apply and study here.
“I study at Nottingham Trent University as a part-time student whilst working full-time at a poultry company who support my studies. My course allows me to learn the theory of food science and technology as well as complete practical work to support theory knowledge taught in lectures. The course allows me to apply my university knowledge to my full-time work.
“Food Chemistry was one of the modules I enjoyed the most as it was the most relatable to my current role. Studying this course is the best thing I have ever done, as it means that my workplace supports my studies, and provides me with experience, making theory work at university more relatable.
“I would recommend this course to a future student as the knowledge you gain is something you will have forever. The reputation of the university is great and the way the course is taught supports you and your employment.
“The course tutors are very supportive. Despite being a part-time student, they are always at the end of a phone or email if you need them.
“Within the first block at university I felt settled in and comfortable with studying at Nottingham Trent University. There was support for everyone starting on the course, as everyone was feeling the same. Everyone soon felt more at ease and more settled.
“When I graduate I intend to progress to management and climb the career ladder within the food industry. This course allows you to learn about all different areas in the food industry and not just things from your current job. This makes what you learn at university relatable to areas throughout the industry, meaning you are more knowledgeable and more transferable to other jobs. It shows you can study at a high level as well as having good industry experience whilst studying.”
