More about Rebekka
“I have become more confident throughout my course and more determined to achieve to the best of my ability. I have improved my communication skills and public speaking techniques, learning to listen to my peers through group work as well as demonstrating my capability to work independently.
“Additionally, I have discovered my niche in Animal Biology of genetics. I have applied myself in this area and have been proactive in progressing my knowledge through further work whilst making contacts and friends I will have for many years to come.
“Following my graduation this year, I am working towards fulfilling a career in genetic research. I am hopeful in the acceptance of a PhD project based in the human genetic field, where I am to build on my knowledge and aid in the discovery of causative genes in specific human disease.
“Ideally, I would like to go on to work in canine genetics, determining causes of inherited genetic diseases where further work may be achievable to aid in the prevention and potential eradication of such diseases in the canine and/or human population.“
