I would also not have achieved what I have without the support of the horticulture staff. They were encouraging and understood the challenges I was going through as a mature student, and did their best to help me.
More about Robert
Robert graduated from our BSc (Hons) Horticulture course in 2016 and is now working as a Trials Officer at Staphyt UK Ltd.
“I run efficacy trials on behalf of agricultural chemical and seed companies. This involves site finding for relevant trial locations, setting up trials in accordance with the sponsor’s protocol, running the trial and collecting assessment data to input onto the companies software package so a report can be generated.
“I would not have found my first job without NTU, it was at careers week in my first year that I first met my current employer. I would also not have achieved what I have without the support of the horticulture staff. They were encouraging and understood the challenges I was going through as a mature student, and did their best to help me.
“My tips for job seeking would be online profiles are key. Make sure they are professional and don’t overload with constant updates. Link with people that are relevant to what you want to achieve rather than just anybody. Try to connect with people that can take you where you want to go.”
