What do you enjoy most about your course at NTU?
“I really value the amount of freedom given to me, in which I can explore many creative design choices.
What do you think of your course staff?
“My tutors and the technical staff in the School help me realise my design potential through supporting me with my design work. From different ways of manufacturing my designs to solving design issues, all the staff are experienced and willing to help out.
How did you spend your placement year?
“I spent my year as a Design Assistant at Roundhouse Design, assisting the designers with their jobs via survey notes, floor plans of kitchens and 3D visualisations of potential kitchens for their clients to fully realise the looks of their kitchens.
“The most enjoyable aspect of my placement was working as part of a design team, and contributing my thought process to the designs. Since my placement revolved around sales, working as a team to achieve those said targets was crucial and really involved everyone.
How will skills gained on placement benefit your employability as a graduate?
“I have gained the necessary skills to accomplish targets, plan effectively and hone my design ideas through discussing with other like-minded people to further different processes.
“For my chosen path to design development, these skills will effectively showcase how I can take a product to completion, as well as building up a repertoire of products to showcase my employability as a product designer.”
