More about Goun
What do you enjoy most about your course at NTU?
“Being in a multi-cultural environment, and learning from my peers on my course, and also from others in different subject areas."
What made you choose to study your postgraduate degree at NTU?
“To be honest, I received offers from more than 12 universities in England, but London was too expensive. I liked the look and feel of NTU and found everything I needed on the website to make my decision.”
Can you tell us about your Masters project – what were your initial ideas and how have you developed it throughout the course?
“We drew inspiration from our course trip to Paris, and started working on a homeware product project. I chose several areas that the product would be used within the home, and specified the different types of projects. I selected lighting and pots in the end, and based on my Paris trip and interior trends, I chose a theme – Simple.
“After that, I worked on sketches, developed the aesthetics, and more importantly, I tried to communicate with professionals including workshop technicians to make my idea feasible. Because of their advice, I finally finished my design and was able to create a prototype for an exhibition.”
In a nutshell, why would you recommend your course / NTU to someone looking to study in that area?
“Nottingham has reasonable living costs, good quality of facilities (workshops), and incredible buildings.”
What advantages do you think having a postgraduate qualification will give you in regards to employment after graduation?
“It will be really helpful for getting promotions within large organisations, as well as securing higher salaries.”
