More about Hannah
Why did you choose NTU and your course?
I chose to study at NTU for an MA in Interior Architecture as I studied my Undergraduate here with a really positive experience. I knew the facilities, teaching and beautiful setting at NTU would be an excellent foundation to study. Everything is here on campus, from our studio and lecture theatres for theory, tutorials and sketching work, to workshops for learning new skills for model making.
Tell us about your background and what you studied prior to continuing into postgraduate studies.
I studied Interior Architecture and Design at NTU, graduating in 2017. Since then I have been working in Industry for 4/5 years working on projects in hospitality, bar design up to Forest Schools and Workplace design.
Does the “real” NTU match what you’d imagined? How does it compare with your friends’ experience at other universities?
NTU has evolved in a beautiful way, going from strength to strength upon my return from industry. Diverse thinking and teaching is strengthened through the tutors and its advancing facilities. Arkwright feels like a home and I don’t think many other MA students on similar course would say the same for their university experiences.
What’s next for you after NTU?
I am excited to see where my Major Study Project and Thesis take me to round up my master’s at NTU and use these as a platform to grow and develop further as a designer. I aspire to work on adaptive re-use projects that inject a new sense of place into redundant architecture. I am also interested in retaining links with NTU / academia and would be open to tutoring opportunities.
