What was your experience like at NTU?

“I really enjoyed studying at NTU, the facilities in and around the city were fantastic and throughout my time many of them were refurbished meaning the best and most up to date facilities were available. The social life in Nottingham was one to rival any other university, nights out were available every night of the week and there was always something to do.

“I would 100% recommend NTU and the Interior Architecture and Design course. The teaching staff are some of the best in the country and the breadth of the course’s modules means you really gain a full insight into the world of Interior Architecture.

Did you go on any trips as part of your course?

“Whilst at NTU I went on two trips, the first being in my first year which was a trip to London where we visited the Tate Modern and other art galleries to further our knowledge and appreciation for art. In our second year we visited Berlin, this was a great trip and was a fantastic opportunity to explore a new city and build friendships on the course.

How did you spend your placement year?

“I spent my year work placement at Area Sq in Egham. Area Sq are a design and build company who specialise in workplace design. With the NTU course predominately focusing on retail and residential design, stepping into the world of workplace and design and build was a big step, however I would not look back and I personally feel the fast pace nature works best with me. The amount of new skills I learnt on my placement was incredible and really helped me towards my final year, especially the understanding of computer softwares such as Photoshop and AutoCAD.

“My placement year helped me incredibly after graduation as I was fortunate enough to be sponsored throughout my final year of university and offered a junior design role by AreaSq. My current role uses a lot of skills learnt at NTU, in particular my understanding of interior spaces and my ability to use several different computer software’s to aid my designing.”
