“NTU offers first-class well-equipped lecture theatres and seminar rooms. The 24-7 Boots Library is also a great place to study and do research.”

“The course focuses on preparing you for your future career.”
Have you completed any work placements?
“I did a summer work placement at AECOM working in the research and development department in the rail sector. I worked on the CFM-5 monitoring project. I also developed my technical knowledge on the monitoring techniques and structural components forming masonry arch bridges.
“My work placement gave me a good insight into work culture and it helped me increase my productivity, strengthen my understanding of health and safety, and develop my awareness of issues when planning and managing projects.”
What competitions have you been involved in?
“I won the David Wright Memorial Prize for Outstanding Performance on the Surveying Field Course.”
What was the most interesting aspect of this competition?
“I had to undertake an intense surveying course, over a period of a week. This helped accelerate my knowledge progression in the real world of surveying. I developed my skills in surveying applications, and using surveying instruments such as levels, theodolites, and total stations.”
