What made you choose to study at NTU?

I have chosen to study at NTU because of the excellent faculty and facilities available for students to learn and grow as individuals and professionals. NTU also has a high employability rate, which shows the excellent teaching standards the faculty has.

How did you find out about NTU before you applied?

I went through an agent who told me about NTU. After doing some research online I fell in love with it.

What do you enjoy most about your course?

My favourite part of the course is the structural analysis and design module, as I really enjoy mathematics.

Have you been involved in any industry competitions during your time at NTU?

Not yet, but in my second year we are going to take part in Engineers Without Borders.

Have you won any prizes during your time at NTU?

I have won the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStuctE) Prize for Outstanding Performance in Structural Engineering by First Year BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering Student.

How do the course staff support your learning and University experience?

They are all excellent, they provide us with study materials and help us whenever we face a problem. The lecturers have a lot of experience within the industry, so they also provide an insight into what the industry is like and the kind of work that we can get involved in.

How do you find the facilities on offer at NTU?

The facilities at NTU are outstanding. In my first year it was a hands-on experience learning experience for me. We worked on surveying practicals where we stayed out on the field for two hours, regardless of the weather conditions to complete the required assignment. There are materials, soils, hydraulics and structures labs as well. NTU has a great study environment in the library with excellent study materials. It also offers outstanding sports facilities and sessions that help students cope with stress or take a break from their studies.

How will the skills you’ve gained at NTU enhance your employability for your chosen career?

Group presentations have helped me gain excellent communication skills and have boosted my confidence to talk in front of a larger audience. I’ve also gained problem solving, teamwork and time management skills.

How did you find out about the International Scholarship?

I found out about the scholarship on the University website with my agent. My scholarship has helped reduce the international tuition fees that I have to pay each year.

What advice would you give to prospective international students who are considering applying for this course?

It’s a great career choice, especially if they are interested in building or designing structures and have unique and creative ideas to tackle real life problems.
