More about Stefan

What made you choose to study at NTU?
“The University’s outstanding reputation for knitwear design, and the research undertaken in the Advanced Textile Research department were a major influence. The teaching style, level of support and business growth opportunities offered by The Hive also played a major role in my decision.”

Has your course included any international trips?
“I was accepted onto the course with a Scholarship from Paul Smith which included a research trip to Japan. I spent my first term living and studying at Bunka Fashion School. It was one of the best experiences of my life.”

“My experience formed the starting point for the majority of my MA project. It inspired my design, style aesthetic and ideas for technological possibilities within textiles and knitwear."

Have you experienced any guest lecturers from industry professionals?
“We have had many guest speakers, practitioners and alumni visit throughout the course. To name just one - Kate Morris, alumni student and winner of the Eco-Chic Design Award, spoke to us about her experiences during her time at NTU which was incredibly helpful. Her work ethic was extremely motivational.”

How would you describe the course staff?
“The level of support I receive from all of my tutors at NTU is incredible. Their support felt genuine and they have been extremely informative throughout my studies. The technicians have a lot of knowledge to share and are always happy to offer advice, help and guidance when I need it.”

What do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
“I like the city life, culture and way of living, but mostly the academic lifestyle. There's a lot of great research and advances in technology and design being made in Nottingham.”

What advice would you give to a prospective student thinking about studying MA Fashion and Textile Design?
