More about Sarah
"I took A-levels when I was 18 and then took five years out before returning to education. I found my course in the prospectus and went to an open day before applying.
"This degree appealed to me because of the issues it deals with. I have always been interested in world issues and also the UK’s relationship with Europe. I wanted to know more about how our world works and understand things from a historical, political and social aspect.
"My course is so varied and there are many different options to choose from; you can tailor your degree to include what you prefer studying: for example, I could choose from European film, European history or European politics.
"I have more of an understanding of how the world works and Europe’s place within the international systems now. My degree is teaching me to think outside the box, to question things that I used to just accept, and it has helped me develop my interests further.
"There are always people available to help you when you need support, both with your studies and other issues. In particular, I found the Financial Support and Career Development Centre very useful.
"NTU is a great university with brilliant teaching staff in a good city. This is a fantastic course, well designed and adaptable to suit you. It’s really diverse and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a degree which gives you a variety of learning.
"When I finish my degree, I’d like to travel first and then hopefully work within European government or for a European business which interests me, focusing on environmental issues, for example. My plans have changed completely as a result of this degree. I am really proud of myself for going back to education and finding the right course for me."
