More about Tai-ying
"I attended a five-week pre-sessional English course at Nottingham Trent University to strengthen my academic English and to make sure I was well prepared for my full-time course – the MSc in Marketing.
"I read the introduction to the course on the NTU website, and it really appealed to me.
"The design of the course and teaching methods are good. I have developed speaking and listening skills, and have a clear concept and experience of preparing for seminars and presentations. The writing skills have also been very useful because I am busy writing a lot for assignments like my case study report.
"I have enjoyed getting to know lots of students from different countries. Some of my friends doing similar courses in the UK told me that they met too many Chinese students and lacked opportunities to practise English, especially speaking, but I found that the course at NTU gave me more chances to strengthen this ability.
"So far, I have broadened not only my vision but also my experience, both in my classes and in life, because I have been surrounded with opportunities to learn a lot from teachers and classmates – something I would never get in Taiwan."
