More about Antoine

"I chose NTU for a variety of reasons, mainly for experiencing the typical British student life in a lively city – not as big as London but not small either. Nottingham has everything a student needs, the campus and facilities within the University, as well as the many courses are what make NTU a top, modern university. While choosing NTU, I took a virtual tour before-hand and that really gave me the opportunity to look around in detail while I was in America. In addition, I read reviews on Whatuni and Student Room to get more insight from both current and previous students, as well as analysing the trends and articles from The Guardian, the Times Higher Education and the Complete University Guide.

"Before coming to study in the UK, I undertook all of my study in France, a BSc in Foreign Languages then an MA in International Affairs in Sorbonne, Paris. With all my previous study being based in France, it didn't put me off applying to come to NTU. The Business School had a high ranking and the campus is located in the city centre which made the decision much easier for me. The study abroad opportunity gave me more chance to visit another country for a term. Finally, the Business School is home to many business-related events and many high profile guests giving lectures throughout the year, exposing students to an insight into the professional world as well as a chance to network.

"The consultancy project was an influence in choosing the course, in particular the research methods that you undertake within the investigations. The freedom involved to investigate many areas which ultimately give you a better mark as its more contribution to the research.

"As I've previously said the facilities are modern, along with a brand new Students Union and gym, I find it outstanding. Everything which is needed within a university is located in one building and that really helps the student. There are a wide range of services and facilities available, the NOW online system being one that helps hugely. All the information that a student needs is on that system, such as email, course information, lectures and update messages from module leaders.

"Being at NTU has made me more confident, becoming self-achieved and autonomous along with my level of English dramatically improving, giving me the confidence that every penny has been well spent. When I first came, it was like starting from scratch, I didn't know anyone and was hard meeting local students. Thankfully the induction weeks and opportunity to join the Rugby society really helped me socialise more, as well as being in halls.

"I enjoyed everything that the University and city had to offer. I often discuss this with my fellow friends in Nottingham and I regret I didn't come for my bachelors here while everything is finished: I envy the freshers but it's another generation. This University has it all. The only thing maybe would be a greener campus within city, but the University are currently building a roof garden on top of the library. I enjoyed the student life, the gigs available, the student events, the varsity, NTSU, the course, the teachers as a whole, the sports and activities available, the convenience of services provided. I am so proud I lived and attended NTU."
