Thesis Title: A comparative study investigating the influence of management control mechanisms within German and British food companies in promoting sustainability strategy.
I am a PhD student in the Nottingham Business School currently undertaking a mixed methods study focusing on how control systems influence the promotion of sustainability oriented strategies.
Specifically the research undertakes a comparative dimension and seeks to understand any differences / similarities that might exist on the role of control systems in promoting sustainability strategies within British and German food companies, and to ascertain the causes behind any differences or similarities, if at all. The research widely focuses on theories and findings from several sub-disciplinary studies including corporate governance, strategic control and culture studies.
I also have keen interests in sustainability focussed publication projects and have worked with well-renowned sustainability scholars in sustainability oriented research projects. I have recently published two book chapters, a textbook chapter that focuses on sustainability reporting aimed at undergraduate students and another book chapter that presents findings from a survey-based study into corporate sustainability in the UK.
