More about Emma
After having gotten a taste of work through various part time roles, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go to university, but with the combination of study and the practical experience, the BA (Hons) Business Management course really appealed to me.
I commenced my career at Toyota GB in 2005, having secured a student placement in the Retailer Systems team and following a successful placement (based at Nottingham Business School) I was offered a permanent position in TGB. To support my knowledge of the wider automotive business, I held roles in Product Marketing for both Toyota and Lexus and then joined the After Sales division as an area After Sales Manager, managing and working with Toyota dealers to develop and improve their After Sales business.
I am now a senior manager within a new division – ConsumerOne. The department’s mission is to work with all Toyota & Lexus teams to identify ideas for improvement, accelerate change and transform the customer experience through insight and testing. My role is to drive change across the Toyota and Lexus organisation, by looking at every element of the consumer journey, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in order to ensure that Toyota and Lexus are doing business the way customers want it.
Throughout my time at TGB, I have been very passionate about supporting the development of young people that join the business, including many BABM students. With a 2 year placement, students really have an opportunity to take time to get to know the company and add real value to the business.
The highlight of my career thus far is being recognised as a Rising Star in the Car Industry (Autocar Great British Women in the Auto Industry).
The NBS environment is exceptionally friendly and supportive, and although every module is positioned to get you ready for the workplace, I found my favourite modules to be the Organisational Change and Personal Development.
