More about Evie
“I chose to study at NBS because I loved the city centre location. When I visited NTU, I immediately knew it was right for me due to the course, the feel and proximity of the University and city, and most importantly, I felt like I would fit in as an individual.
“At the beginning of second year I sought advice and support from the Employability Team with my CV and cover letter. NBS highly recommended that students complete a year in industry to make graduates much more competitive in the graduate environment. If this hadn’t been encouraged I would have not have had such a strong direction for my career or such a developed understanding of business structures. Upon completion of my placement year at BMW UK, I was offered a place on their Speed-up Programme and subsequently a role as a permanent employee.
“I would definitely recommend doing a placement – it’s an amazing experience and a great opportunity to try a career you want to pursue in the future or try something completely new that you might find you love – like I did! Using my knowledge in marketing from my placement year, I won Future Marketer of the Year at the Chartered Institute of Marketing Excellence Awards, demonstrating how much you can gain during a year in industry, having only studied marketing at a basic level previously.
“My advice to prospective students would be to work hard throughout your time here! The harder you work in second year the better, as it will take some pressure off for final year”.
