What made you decide to do a Masters degree?

After graduating with a Bachelors degree in the field of engineering, I wanted to pursue my higher education in a Business Management field. I decided a Masters degree will provide me with the academic, sports and practical experience that I needed.

Why did you choose Nottingham Business School?

I had heard great things about NBS and I was also looking for Masters with a placement year which was offered by NBS.

Can you explain a little about your course?

I am studying MSc Management and Innovation & Enterprise. This course has the fundamentals of business management from finance, project management, Innovation and sustainability, LEAN practises and International modules, which gave me a great chance to display my ability to perform on a live project. I improved my time management skills, multi-tasking abilities, communication skills during my studies here.

Did you get involved with any other activities in Nottingham Business School?

I attended many Continuing Professional Development events. One of them was the Thinkubator Challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was also in the Badminton team which was a great opportunity for me play for the university.

How has the Masters degree differed from your undergraduate experience?

It was a completely different experience from my Undergraduate experience. I got to meet people from different cultures, study different sectors of management, work part time and learn to manage all of them efficiently.

What made you decide to choose the two-year option with placement?

The placement was one of the primary reasons for me to choose this course. I wanted to work and build my career in the Business industry and in the UK. Therefore, I came to NBS to start my career and progress in the field.

What advice would you give to students considering doing the placement year and the application process for securing a placement?

Consider starting to look for the placements from October.  I was keen on securing the placement so I started applying for jobs and placements from October 2017.

Keep yourself flexible in terms of opportunities and location of work. In addition, be resilient and concentrated during your placement application stages. Finally, seek help and guidance from employability team and use all the online resources.

Where have you secured your placement? What is your job title and your main responsibilities?

I work in SEJ Distribution Ltd and I am the Internal Sales Advisor there. I am responsible for sales and customer services in the office.

How has the course influenced your future plans or career aspirations?

Studying this course and securing the placement has made me very self-confident and future oriented which has also made me to stay focused and work harder.
