More about Sam

“For the year in which I lived in Nottingham, I found it a great city to live in with lots going on for students and work alike. Likewise, Nottingham Trent University itself has been the perfect choice for me so far by offering the best possible study, work and volunteering opportunities. I have found everything to be very well organised, and the university definitely puts the student at the centre of its operations.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my course so far. Whilst at times it has been challenging, I think this is for the best as you come to university to learn and improve as a person. As I love travelling and speaking Spanish, the study option with the dual award (2 years at the University of Valencia - where it is conveniently warm and sunny) has been a great experience as it has allowed me to meet some wonderful people from across the globe whilst learning some important subjects related to International Business. As part of the 2 years in Valencia, I was able to do a 6 month placement in Mexico which has been an incredible experience and one which I would thoroughly recommend.

“I loved the opportunity at NTU and abroad to mix with people from different cultures and different parts of the world. I have found it extremely interesting to find out about these different cultures and it has been brilliant to learn from students, international and domestic alike.

“NTU provides you with a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow as a person. Whilst providing you with a great education it also gives you the opportunity to develop many other relevant working skills. Whilst I understand studying abroad is not for everyone, I would thoroughly recommend an exchange period for those who might be interested. The Erasmus programme is a great experience to study and work abroad (whilst benefiting from the EU fee waiver during this time also helps with the finances) and there are many other exchange and international experiences available. I would say it may seem daunting at first, but after a few days you won’t look back on it and it will definitely create life changing memories”
