More about Shannen

“What made me choose NTU over any other university was the opportunities it has to offer. When I went to the open day, immediately the atmosphere was great, the facilities were immaculate, the tutors were very informative and the opportunities were endless. From that, I knew that I wanted to study at NTU.

“The best thing about studying at NBS is how proactive the tutors and course leaders are with the students; the standard of teaching and resources available are great for students. BA (Hons) Business is a very broad course – it allows you to look at many aspects of the business at a management level. For those who are unsure what they want to do in business as a career, this is a great course to study. Without doing this course, I don’t think I would have had an idea of what I want to do in the future. I have particularly enjoyed the Global Supply Chain modules and I am now applying for graduate roles within this sector.

“There’s so much to do alongside your course that can benefit you as an individual and also help support your future career. Throughout my four years at NTU, I have been actively involved with extracurricular activities. In my first year, I was fortunate to get accepted to study Private Banking and Wealth Management at ZHAW University, Switzerland. It was a two-week course and was an unforgettable experience. As a final year student, I took part in the Thinkubator Challenge – an event that required us to work as a team to do some consultancy work for businesses needing help.

“There is a range of support available to students at NTU. Each year you are assigned a tutor so if you have any queries or issues they are there to assist you. Course tutors are also very helpful. They have drop in hours so if you’re ever concerned about the work they are always proactive to help.  At NTU we also have the Employability Team who are there to offer help in regards to writing a CV and cover letter, building a LinkedIn profile, and applying for placements and graduate roles.

“My advice for any student is to get involved with all the opportunities NTU has to offer. There are so many things you can do to not only enjoy your time at university but to help you as a future graduate. I’ve had such a positive experience from doing this.”
