Step outside your comfort zone and take as many opportunities that are available to you

More about Thomas

“As an extra-curricular programme, I took part in the Enterprise project as I have always wanted to start my own business and saw it as an ideal opportunity to pursue my ambition. I learnt a lot of skills, such as how to conduct market research and deliver effective presentations. The Headstart programme has provided a toolbox for running my own business.

“My studies have contributed to my career as it has developed skills and knowledge of business and entrepreneurship and can be applied to a working environment. Entrepreneurship is not just about setting up your own business, it can also be applied in large organisations. (Intrapreneurship)

“Each student and staff member will interpret a business situation differently therefore working with fellow students and discussing scenarios with different staff members was interesting to hear their perspective. It helps develop a more critical mind set. In addition, I have personally improved my presentation skills by working with others in group tasks.

“I’d advise prospective students who are considering joining Nottingham Business School to step outside your comfort zone and take as many opportunities that are available to you.”
