More about Johnny
“The best things about studying at NBS are the endless opportunities available to you and the experiences you can gain. Studying at NBS isn’t just about qualifying with a degree – the extra activities I’ve been involved in have also been really valuable and helpful, making me feel ready for the workplace.
“The course has been fantastic. It uses a lot of real world examples which makes it easier to understand some concepts. The teaching staff have been really supportive and they are always there to help you if needed. We have also had an annual social party for the past three years, which has been brilliant as it gives us a time to chill out and have fun with course mates and the staff.
“During revision time, the staff set up a good number of revision sessions and drop-ins, which I have found to be useful as it provided a dedicated session to ask questions and get help on the things I wasn’t too sure about.
“The Employability Team have also been useful for both placement and graduate role applications. I was able to get careers advice from the staff there, as well as preparing me for interviews and assessment centres.
“There are lots of events across the year which you can take part in. During second year, I participated in the Acceler8 programme, where I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses and then attended specific workshops to improve my skills. This was really helpful as it made me feel more prepared for the placement year and it was something I could add to my CV and talk about in interviews.
“In my final year, I took part in the Thinkubator challenge where I worked alongside other students on coming up with ideas to suggest to a travel app developer on how they should promote and launch their app.
“I also studied Mandarin throughout my time at NTU, which enabled me to learn a new language as well as building international awareness.”
