More about Millie
"I first came to Nottingham Trent University on an open day and after a student led tour I was overwhelmed by the fantastic facilities of the campus. I loved how close the University is to the city centre and all the amenities such as restaurants, nightclubs and of course shops! Not only did I find the facilities set Nottingham Business School apart from other universities, but this was reflected in NTU's fantastic graduate employment rates.
"Originally, I opted to study Business Management. However, after studying a broad range of business related subjects in the first year, I recognised I had a passion for marketing. Due to the flexibility at Nottingham Business School I was able to tailor my interests and alter my degree programme to specialise in Business Management and Marketing. I enjoyed being able to have the flexibility of independent learning, but also the support when required from tutors.
"For me, the highlight of the course was undertaking a placement in my third year. This involved having a year away from University to undertake a year in industry within my chosen discipline. I gained a position at Pirelli Tyres as a Marketing Assistant which enabled me to put the theory learnt at University into practice and also enhance my career prospects post-graduation.
"University life enables you to immerse yourself in activities that you may never have experienced before which can also enhance your employability as a graduate. I became a course representative, which enabled me to take part in regular debates with other course representatives. Furthermore, I was able to join groups such as the Institute of Directors which has taught me how to network and present myself in front of future employers.
"After the completion of my exams I hope to take some time out and work as an English Tutor in Italy. I am then planning to gain a graduate position within marketing.
"If I had to describe Nottingham Business School in three words: Engaging. Enjoyable. Experiential."
