More about Supriya
Supriya Namboodiri is from Kerala in India, but came to NTU from Oman where her parents have settled. She was awarded an NTU International Scholarship for her studies here.
Why did you choose to do this course?
"I met an NTU representative in India and he gave me information about the course. Also NTU offered me a substantial scholarship for my academic achievements which definitely gave me more of an incentive to come! I want to complete my Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) accreditation, so that I am professionally qualified.
What accommodation did you choose?
"I've lived in both private halls and University halls. I would recommend halls over a shared house in the first year as it means you've always got people around you, and many of them are situated right in the centre of town. The accommodation service staff at NTU were excellent and helped me find a place to stay. The initial halls of residence I wanted to stay in was full, but the accommodation service staff went out of their way to find me another place which I was very happy with.
Do you have a part time job?
"Yes, I work for a catering and hospitality company who provide services to the local football teams of Derby County and Nottingham Forest, about eight hours a week. I worked with them for the 20 / 20 cricket at Trent Bridge cricket ground where India came to play!"
