More about Jennifer
"As a Senior Beauty Therapist, the PGCE is the highest teaching qualification I could gain in my profession. A friend within the same industry did her teaching training course at NTU and recommended it when I decided to take the next step with my career
"I presumed it was going to be a challenge, and the support you receive from staff and tutors is a strength of the course. I have had a bumpy journey, but have had continual support and guidance from my tutor, who I was able to sit with and discuss areas of development regarding assignments. After advice, I decided to see an academic Peer Mentor within NTU, to help me with my written work, which helped me massively.
"I most enjoyed writing my Independent Study assignment, which I was dreading, as I am not a natural academic. But I enjoyed writing about a topic I could relate to. I feel I have learnt a lot from the theorists I have studied, which I can relate within my teaching.
"My workplace has recently opened a training school for external Beauty Therapists and I now have the official qualification to teach and assess learners. Not only does it improve my teaching skills, but it also shows the professionalism within the training school.
"I have had to overcome a lot to complete the course and I am very proud of what I have achieved. I wanted to take the next step in my career and now I can!"
