More about Kajal
"The combination of subjects really attracted me to this course. The unique nature of a Joint Honours degree, along with the opportunity to gain work experience really helps you stick out from the crowd.
"The modules are highly relevant to current issues, strengthening your chances of going straight into employment or postgraduate studies. I'm currently enjoying the Leadership and Management module.
"Starting university as a mature student was daunting for many reasons; I'd taken a lot of time out to work and it had been a long while since I'd written any form of academic assignment.
"However, I quickly discovered that the Education team is very helpful and that NTU offers mature students lots of support, including Stride, a great training and development programme.
"I couldn't believe it when I won the STRIDE Trainee of the Year award at the end of the year. The programme was a big factor in helping me go from a 2:2 in my first year to a 2:1 in my second. I'm now proud to be a Stride trainer, helping to inspire students who, like me, initially struggle with university life.
"Thanks to my course I'm now more reflective and a much better communicator; I'm also more determined than ever to become a primary school teacher."
*STRIDE is now called the NTSU Skills Award.
