Why did you decide to study in the UK?
To travel, and to gain new experiences.
What were the key features that attracted you to your course?
It was mainly to aspire more to be like my childhood hero, Lee Kuan Yew. I also feel that it is important that one is well-educated in the law, as a country would be in chaos without a solid justice system.
How is the course at NTU different to your course at home?
The way lessons are conducted are definitely a major difference. In NTU, lessons are more independent and interactive.
What has been your favourite module / part of the course?
Critical Legal Thinking was definitely one of my favourite modules in the course. I believe that the module has strengthen my ability to reason, which is beneficial to any law student.
What did you find most interesting about Nottingham as a City?
Its history with Robin Hood, and the amount of caves situated here!
What places in Nottingham would you like to tell other Malaysian students about?
Wollaton Park and the Arboretum are great places to visit after a stressful day or week.
How do you feel that you have grown personally as well as academically at NTU?
Being in a new environment, I have faced many testing experiences that has helped developed me personally and academically. It has taught me to adapt, persevere, and to be patient.
What do you enjoy most about living in Nottingham?
The nightlife in Nottingham was definitely an enjoyable experience. It is not what I have expected as I was told Nottingham was a small town.
How well did you adjust to staying in the UK?
I feel that I have done well in integrating to the lifestyle here. This is mainly through the help of friends that I have made throughout my time here.
Did you receive any support to make it easier to adjust to studying at NTU or the Law School?
The lecturers in NTU Law School were very attentive throughout the year, and I feel they have played an integral role in providing me with support. This has definitely made it easier for me to adjust to the teaching style here.
What are your plans for the future?
I have enrolled onto the BPTC, and will be continuing my studies at NTU.
