More about Emily
Emily is currently training to be a Secondary ICT teacher at NTU...
"I came to an Open Day at Nottingham Trent University to find out more about an ICT with Education Joint Honours degree, but I decided to look around the computing facilities whilst I was there. I ended up talking to staff about the ICT course and decided that it was the best route for me to take.
"I enjoyed studying at NTU because as a Computing student I had a lot of resources and facilities available to me which would otherwise be expensive, and it allowed for a lot of creativity to find out what I wanted to do after university.
"All first year students have access to mentors who are students in their second or third years. The mentors are students who have been through the process before, and can offer experience and advice.
"The degree showed me what careers are available in the IT industry, but when I took part in the Students In Classrooms scheme I realised that I still wanted to pursue teaching. I am currently training to be an ICT teacher studying a PGCE at NTU."
