More about Jordan
"I heard about my course from a friend who attended a year before me and had good things to say about the University. Nottingham is perfect for students. There are lots of bars and restaurants and there is always something to do. The new Students' Union is one of the most modern in the country.
"The course structure is very streamlined with a higher weighting towards practical lab work in the first year. I am a very hands-on person so this appealed to me.
"The Rosalind Franklin Building has state of the art equipment; all the glassware and equipment needed for practicals is provided and you have the opportunity to use Carbon and Hydrogen NMR, single crystal and powder X-ray diffractors, IR spectroscopy, Gas and liquid chromatography.
"The practical lab skills you learn will help endlessly when working in industry while individual assignments and projects allow you to learn to work independently and improve your time management skills. The nature of the assignments greatly improved my analytical skills, teaching me how to break a large problem into small manageable tasks.
"The staff are also friendly and approachable and are more than happy to answer any questions relating to your course. They are also happy to help with personal issues and point you in the right direction if you are having problems outside of your course.
"My biggest achievement at NTU so far has been graduating with first class honours. I am now in my first year of a three year PhD course at NTU."
