More about Onarinde

Jennifer is from Nigeria and came to study at NTU to widen her educational experience in her specialist subject area. She was awarded an NTU International Scholarship for her studies here.

Why did you choose NTU?
"After researching some universities in the UK I believed that NTU would give me the opportunity to succeed in the career I was looking for. My project supervisor, Professor Steven Forsythe, is one of the most interesting people I've met since coming here. I plan to complete my Masters and proceed to do a PhD. The international team helped me to come without too much stress by awarding me a scholarship.

What is your advice to other international students coming to study here?
"It is a wonderful experience, meeting new people, enjoying all the facilities and activities on offer, but be ready to study hard and be determined and focused so that you do not get distracted.

Do you think the investment you have made to study here will have been worthwhile?
"Yes, the course is interesting and will be of great use in the near future. The investment will be of use because the knowledge I have gained so far is sound. I know I will be able to apply it anywhere I work in the world.

What will you miss most when you go home?
"I am beginning to enjoy the weather, so I will definitely miss that! I will also miss travelling around UK seeing the countryside and different environments."
