Ross Woodcock

United Kingdom
Originally I wasn't on a sandwich course, but now I'm glad I did as I've got a good idea what I want to achieve.

More about Ross

"The course is a really good mixture of IT and business so it's a good choice for someone who doesn't want to concentrate on one single bit of the IT industry.

"I feel I'm pretty well equipped technically after having a learnt a good range of languages. On the business side of things, I feel I understand how IT businesses work.

"For my placement year I worked for Union Square as a Technical Consultant implementing clients software and also working on bespoke changes. I also worked on the project accounting module working with external vendors to link our software with their systems. After completing my placement year with the company they offered me a contract, where I receive sponsorship during my final year. I'm then contracted to go back to the company after finishing university.

"There are staff dedicated to helping you secure a placement and as I'm currently completing my final year my personal tutors/project tutors are also helping me to get the best possible degree.

"Nottingham's a great place to be. The university has good sports facilities, and as someone who is keen on sports and keeping fit, there's a load of stuff to get involved in."
