What really appealed to me about this course was the fact that I could specialise in sport which is something I couldn’t do on a traditional engineering course. We have a wide range of very high-quality equipment available to us including electronic systems, exercise bikes and body measurement devices. The practical sessions build on the work that we've been doing in the lectures.
There is a focus on developing problem solving skills within many aspects of the course. In maths sessions we cover complex numbers, differentiation and integration and in engineering, materials and motion. We’ve had the opportunity to reverse engineer a DVD player into its constituent parts as well as design a Mars Lander!
It’s a really fun course with great people and the academic staff are great at engaging students in the lectures, seminars and labs.
