The tutors are helpful and have supported me through every stage of my degree. In particular, I really enjoyed the 'Health Promotion in Practice' module where I got to work, in a pair, alongside businesses to create our own health campaign.

"When I was narrowing down my final choices for university, NTU was always a standout to me because of its outstanding awards and ideal City Centre location. Once I began my studies at NTU, I loved how the University gave me an opportunity to explore my passions outside of my studies. The University offered a variety of musical opportunities to me that I was able to get involved with around my studies, including multiple concerts, contests and even a tour to Germany.
"The best aspect about the School of Social Sciences is the wealth of support they have been able to give me throughout my time at NTU. In addition to receiving academic support, I have also been fortunate enough to be offered the role as a Student Mentor during my second and third years. Through this opportunity, I was able to gain an insight into mentoring and helping students through organised events which assist students through academic and social aspects of university life.
"Nottingham is definitely a city for students! Being at Nottingham Trent, you are never far from the action and there’s an abundance of restaurants, bars, night clubs and cafes – there really is something for everyone! One of my favourite events is the Hockley Hustle, where the entire City Centre is taken over by performers and musicians for a weekend.
"I have really enjoyed my time studying Health and Social Care. The tutors are helpful and have supported me through every stage of my degree. In particular, I really enjoyed the 'Health Promotion in Practice' module where I got to work, in a pair, alongside businesses to create our own health campaign. We had so much flexibility with our campaigns, from choosing the topic to creating infographics to attending the campaign events where we got to show our campaign stands in one of the main university buildings.
"Due to the broad nature of my course, I have been able to choose the specific modules that I want to take part in. Personally, my interests lie within mental health and counselling, from this I have been able to choose specific modules such as ‘The Theory of Counselling’ and ‘Mental Health and Illness’ that have guided me to pursue mental health nursing once I have graduated from NTU.
"Take advantage of everything on offer! The School of Social Sciences provide so many academic events and the university offers so much to get involved with like sports, music and societies. Your time at Trent will go so quickly once you’re here, so definitely make the most of everything!"
