More about Emily
"Having enjoyed studying for my undergraduate degree at NTU and knowing and chatting to the staff that would be teaching on the MA, this helped me decide that I would like to stay on for my postgraduate degree. I knew a lot about NTU and the facilities, so this also helped in my decision.
"The key feature that attracted me to the course was the flexibility of it being over two consecutive days. This has enabled me to live back at home and travel down on the train and stay overnight one night a week, allowing me to volunteer for a local charity near home.
"The library is great and there are great resources both online and in physical form, with helpful staff who are always around if I had any questions. I usually use NOW to find online resources through Library OneSearch and check my emails - I find it useful to have everything available in one place.
"The postgraduate community at NTU is very friendly, with people often supporting each other and helping to motivate each other when needed. My greatest achievement as an NTU postgraduate student so far has been achieving distinctions in two of my assessments, which I did not expect!
"The course is fantastic, I have learned a lot and felt supported by the University throughout. My advice to people considering NTU would be to go for it, as you will never know if you don't try.
"I am now pretty certain that I want to work in the charity sector, helping those who have been in prison to reintegrate back in to society and also to help those currently involved in street-based sex work."
