More about Gabriel
"I chose NTU because the of the BA (Hons) Politics course. For me, this was by far the best Politics course available - particularly as it provided the opportunity to spend a year abroad. Nottingham also seemed like a great place to study. I'd heard really great reviews about the diverse culture, nightlife and shopping that the city has to offer. I also liked the fact that it is situated centrally within England.
"I was attracted to the course by the opportunity for some students to spend a year abroad on the Erasmus+ exchange programme. I spent my year abroad in Lille, France and the experience brought with it many benefits academically, socially and personally. I also gained important transferable skills and the experience reinforced my commitment to foreign language study.
"The University's Politics Division has a well-deserved reputation. For me the best aspect of the course was the flexibility to choose optional modules, the diverse teaching methods, and the way the teaching prepared me for working life. I also felt very supported throughout the course; I was allocated a personal tutor with whom I planned and worked effectively.
"Nottingham has a big city feel but it's not overwhelming. You can easily find your way around and it has a wide range of places to go for food and entertainment. There are so many places to visit and with the University being in the city centre, I had easy access to hundreds of restaurants and shops. I think the quality of life in Nottingham is as good as anywhere in the UK. It has everything you need and it is much cheaper than places like London.
"I have future career ambitions to enter the teaching profession and as such, I am currently in the process of applying to postgraduate teacher training courses. I am confident that NTU has equipped me with the necessary skills that will make me attractive to employers."
