More about Rebecca
"I chose to study at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) because I had heard great things about both the city and the University. I had never lived in a city before, so deciding to move to Nottingham was a big decision.
"I decided to apply to NTU after attending an open day where I had a guided tour around the City site and sat in on a talk about my chosen subject. After hearing about the great team at NTU and the facilities the University had to offer I knew I would settle in fine.
"Living in Nottingham has been nothing like what I expected. I loved living in the city for three years. The transport is great with trams running every few minutes, the wide variety of shops are any girls dream. Nottingham also has a 'buzzing' night life with so many places to go, whether this involves having dinner, cocktails or dancing the night away in a range of night clubs.
"The modules I have studied at NTU have covered a wide range of issues and sparked some great debates, leaving it impossible for me to choose a favourite. The online NOW system has also been extremely useful, enabling me to email staff and fellow students when needed. While also allowing me to check my results, look up reading list and class content. The 24 hours access to computers in the library and the great staff were the key that helped me pass my course with such success.
"During my time at NTU the change I have witnessed in my confidence, both personally and academically has been substantial. I never thought I would go to university, let alone move to a city and pass with a first class honours in my subject.
"My advice to potential students is to visit NTU on one of their open days, have a look round and ask any questions you may have. I also highly recommend getting involved in as many activities you can, whether this be a sport, a club, volunteering or working. You meet new people and it will look great on your CV."
