More about Rosie
"After I completed my A-levels I started working as a dental nurse. While I did enjoy this, I knew that I wanted to study for a degree in the area of healthcare, but I was unsure on what to do. The Health and Social Care degree offered by NTU really appealed to me because of its broad approach to the health and social environment as a whole.
"I loved the ethos of the whole University and the general environment was always warm, friendly and welcoming. I gained many life experiences during my time at University that I can apply to everyday life.
"After my first year I chose a module relating to Counselling Theories, which at the time I did not think I would be particularly interested in. However, in my second year I found that I thoroughly enjoyed it and went on to study it further in my third year and even focused my individual project on Psychological Therapies.
"Although I am not currently working in a career directly specific to my course, I am now working within the NHS and use the many skills learnt from the course on a day-to-day basis. Things are always popping up that I am already aware of from studying the BA (Hons) Health and Social Care degree and I believe that the course has given me a step up from starting a new job in a different environment.
"When applying for my current job, I had did not have the required experience. However, I felt that I was successful because of the skills that I gained on the course, my attitude and ability to pick up the role quickly. I think that Nottingham Trent University is a respected institution and employers are aware of the standards students graduate with."
