Applying to a course at NTU

What documents to provide when applying

We ask that you include as much detail as possible so we can make an informed decision as we understand you may not have your certificates yet.

Your offer will include ‘conditions’ which can be marked as 'met' when you’ve sent us your documents.

Application deadline


For undergraduates, UCAS have deadlines for international students, which is usually the end of June.


For postgraduate courses we don’t have deadlines but we strongly advise that you apply at least 12 weeks before your course starts.

If you don't meet course requirements

If you don't meet course requirements, don’t worry, you still have options.

You can apply to do a foundation course or pre-Masters course at Nottingham Trent International College on our City campus. If you need an English qualification, you can apply for a pre-sessional English course.

Deferring your application

If you would like to defer and have applied to us directly, you can request to defer your application for one academic year only by contacting us.

When to apply for your visa

As soon as you receive your CAS you can apply for your visa.

You can prepare for your application by making sure your required finances are in a bank account in your name, or your parent's name, for at least 28 days before you make your application.

Your offer and your CAS

Deadline to meet your conditions

There’s no official deadline to meet your conditions, however we strongly recommend you do this as soon as you can.

When you've met all your conditions, your place at NTU will be confirmed and we can issue your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).

When you can receive your CAS

For us to send you a CAS:

  • your offer must have been accepted
  • you must have met all of the conditions of your offer, including the £3,000 initial payment.

We can then send your CAS, but this will be no sooner than 16 weeks before your course start date in line with UKVI regulations.

We only issue CAS Statements via email. To submit a visa application you will need to use the CAS number stated in the email - you do not need to submit a hard copy or PDF version of the CAS as part of the visa application.

Mistakes on your CAS

Your offer letter

International students will be sent a copy of their offer letter as a pdf document by email within 10 working days of receiving confirmation of your offer.

If you have received an offer to study with us, 10 workings days have passed and you have not yet received a copy of your offer letter please let us know via our online enquiry form.

Enrolling at NTU

There are two stages to enrolment – online and in person.

Please begin your online enrolment in the weeks before you arrive. You will be sent your NTU ID number and all the details about our enrolment process by email, which you need to have received in order to start enrolment.

When you arrive at NTU, you will need to go to the Student Services Centre to complete your enrolment.


Making an advanced payment

You can make your advance payment any time after you have received and accepted your offer.

Please note that we will be unable to issue you with a CAS or update your offer to unconditional until this payment has been made. The easiest way to make this payment is via our online store using a valid credit or debit card or through GlobalPay.
