Since launching our apprenticeships in 2012, Nottingham Trent University has built a reputation for quality higher and degree apprenticeships. We've continued to expand our portfolio, and we now offer a diverse range of apprenticeships to suit a multitude of apprentices and employers.
NTU is a teaching-intensive and research-active university. We're placed 34th in The Guardian University Guide’s 2018 league table, we’ve won Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) gold, and we’re committed to our students – enabling them to transform their life chances and to enhance the social, cultural and economic environment in which they live, study, volunteer and work.
We're employment focused
NTU puts industry at the centre of everything we do. We ensure apprentices and students alike are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to begin making an impact in their chosen jobs, right from day one.
In 2015, NTU's Nottingham Business School (NBS) won The Guardian University Award in Business Partnership. With 15 years of experience in the area of work-based degree programmes, we have a deep understanding of how to tailor apprenticeships to specific roles within industry.
As well as this, 94% of our undergraduates are in work or further study within just six months of graduating, according to the latest Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey (2014-2015) – further evidence of NTU's commitment to providing students with the knowledge and skills relevant to finding employment.
As well as being ranked in the top 20 universities in the UK for teaching excellence (Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016), NTU has also recently been awarded a coveted TEF gold for outstanding teaching and learning. Students and apprentices alike learn from experienced staff who are enthusiastic and passionate about the areas in which they research, teach and work.
93% of our students would recommend studying at NTU - National Student Survey 2016
In 2015, NTU was awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize – the highest national honour for a UK university, presented to institutions that promote world-class excellence and achievement. This informs all our teaching, and you'll be learning in an environment that values excellence in education.
Since 2003, NTU has invested £450 million across all four of our campuses. This investment ensures our students benefit from the most innovative learning and social spaces, equipment and facilities available.
At the heart of this investment has been our Clifton Campus, which has undergone extensive regeneration. Ongoing development work includes the construction of our specialist Interdisciplinary STEM Teaching and Engagement Centre (ISTEC) and our new Engineering Teaching and Learning Building.
This redevelopment has led to our Clifton Campus winning several awards, including the Regeneration Award from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). We're also established as one of the most environmentally friendly universities in the UK, holding first place in the People & Planet University League, which we've topped three times now.
