What are the entry requirements for students from the Caribbean?
The entry requirements for Bachelors and Masters degrees at NTU for students from the Caribbean are listed below. Select your qualification from the list to see what you need to join a course at the University.

English language requirements
You’ll need an IELTS qualification at the appropriate grade or an alternative English language qualification accepted by the University.
Students who do not meet the English language requirements may be required to take a pre-sessional English language (PEAP) course.
Accepted for year one entry to undergraduate degrees with 6 CAPE units required:
Either 3 double unit subjects or 2 double unit subjects and 2 single unit subjects.
Minimum grades: 2 units at grade II and 4 units at grade III.
Considered for Masters degree:
- When awarded by the University of the West Indies
- When awarded by tertiary institutions, provided the programme of study has been accredited by the University Council of Jamaica
Where grades are used:
- B+ is considered equivalent to a UK 2:1 Bachelors degree
- B is considered equivalent to a UK 2:2 Bachelors degree
Where grade point average marking is used:
- 3.0 to 3.49 is considered equivalent to a UK 2:1 Bachelors degree
- 2.5 – 2.99 is considered equivalent to a UK 2:2 Bachelors degree
Considered for PhD and research degrees:
- When awarded by the University of the West Indies
- When awarded by tertiary institutions provided the programme of study has been accredited by the University Council of Jamaica
Latin America and Caribbean Scholarship

We also offer a variety of other scholarships ranging from £2,000 to 50% of your tuition fee. Once you submit an application form we’ll assess you for all scholarships you are eligible for.
