Planning your application

It’s important to plan your application carefully, especially if you need a visa to study here. We try to make our deadlines as flexible as possible and you need to give yourself plenty of time.

  • How to apply for a postgraduate course

    NTU Applicant Portal

    If you're applying for a postgraduate taught course please apply online using the NTU Applicant Portal.

    When you've created your application you can log back in as many times as you like to add information or upload supporting documents.

    You can also apply directly to the University on the NTU Applicant Portal if you would like to do an undergraduate course here and do not to apply to any other UK university in the same year.

    Uploading documents to support your application

    Upload any supporting documents to  your application as soon as you have them. You don't have to wait until you have all of the documents together at the same time.

    Supporting documents can include qualification transcripts / certificates including your language test certificate, e.g. IELTS.

    Upload your documents on the NTU Applicant Portal using the ‘My Documents’ screen.

    What to do after you've applied

    We'll contact you on the same email you use in your application if there's more information we need from you.

  • How to apply for an undergraduate course

    To apply for an undergraduate course you must apply online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions System (UCAS).

    If you would like to apply for an undergraduate course here and do not apply to any other UK university in the same year you can apply directly on the NTU Applicant Portal.

    Please send any supporting documents for your application as soon as you have them. You do not have to wait until you have all of the documents together at the same time.

  • How to apply for research

    If you would like to apply for a PhD or further research please make an application directly to our Doctoral School.

  • How to apply for a Foundation or Pre-Masters course at NTIC

    If you don’t meet the entry requirements for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate course we offer preparation courses at our  partner institution: Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC), part of Kaplan International.

    NTIC is ideally located on our City Campus. As an NTIC student you’ll have access to all University facilities, and can enjoy guaranteed entry to NTU when you pass your NTIC course at the required level with good attendance.

    Please apply directly to NTIC for these courses - not to the University.   All the information is available on the NTIC webiste or you can contact them on tel: +44 (0)20 7045 4925.
