How to use our Virtual Open Day
Welcome to our Virtual Open Day guide, a useful tool to refer to during your virtual visit. This guide will show you how to navigate around our Virtual Open Day and includes tips on how to make the most of your experience.

1. Check our timetable of talks
The first thing to do is check the Virtual Open Day timetable for a list of live and on demand talks.
When looking at the timetable, if the talk you're interested in has a time slot next to it, it means you will find it by clicking the 'Live Events' button on the right-hand side of the Virtual Open Day. If the talk is listed as 'On Demand', you'll find it by clicking the 'Live Events' button and then clicking 'On Demand' – on demand talks are available to watch at any point of the day.
Top tip: Before starting the Virtual Open Day, make a note of every talk you wish to attend and whether they're live or on demand. This way you won't miss anything!

2. Your step-by-step guide
When you open our Virtual Open Day, you’ll be presented with the option to ‘Explore by subject’ or ‘Explore everything’.
Top tip: If you know which course or subject area you’re interested in, click ‘Explore by subject’. If you’re not sure and want to have a look around, click ‘Explore everything’ – this option also includes 360-degree views of our accommodation.

3. Take a guided tour
We recommend that you explore by subject first and select ’Take a guided tour’. This way you’ll find everything you need to know about your course, including where you’ll be studying, and have the opportunity to chat to NTU students and staff.
Top tip: Make sure you explore all our campuses after taking the guided tour!

4. How to find the information you need
There are two ways to make your way through the guided tour and interact with our content:
1. Click ‘Next’ on the left-hand side of the screen to move forward and ‘Prev’ to return back to a page.
2. Click on one of the eight dots at the bottom of the page to move to each section.
To view content within each section, you can either use the menu on the left-hand side or explore the icons on the 360-degree image.
Top tip: Drag the background image around to see the whole 360-degree view of the campus!

5. Chat to our students and staff
On each section of the Virtual Open Day, you’ll see an icon of a student or staff member in the bottom right corner. Click this icon to chat online with staff and students from the University.
Here you can ask anything and everything you want to know – whether it’s about course modules, the support available at NTU, or fees and funding. The student or staff member will get back to you as soon as they can.
Top tip: We’re here to help, so ask as many questions as you like!

6. Highlights of the day
We understand that it can be difficult to choose the right university, so it’s important to think about what is important to you and what key things you are interested in. It’s also important to know all the details of a university before making an informed decision. That’s why we’ve gathered a few highlights from the virtual open day that we think play a big role in choosing the right university.
Top tip: Don’t just take our word for it! Talk to current NTU students (see step 5) to get an insight into life at NTU from the people who know it best.

7. Exploring everything
After you’ve completed your guided tour, you can also explore everything and switch between our campuses. You will have access to a range of facilities across all campuses, so make sure that you check them out.
This overview is a great way to work out where our different buildings are in Nottingham and to familiarise yourself with our campuses.
Top tip: Explore each icon on the 360-degree image to discover what’s in that location.
We hope our Virtual Open Day gives you a taste of life at NTU. If you have any questions, call us on +44 (0)115 848 4200 or complete our enquiry form to get in touch.
