Postgraduate Scholarship (Artificial Intelligence conversion course)

To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

• have an offer of a place on the MSc Artificial Intelligence course for September 2024
• have the UK as their country of permanent residence
• meet the nationality or residency status criteria to qualify for a UK Postgraduate Masters' loan

• 26 June 2024 at 4pm BST
• 07 August 2024 at 4pm BST (final deadline)

Applications received after 4pm on the day of the deadline will automatically be considered for the next available deadline. For example, an application received at 5pm on 26 June 2024 would be considered for the final deadline on 07 August 2024.

Applications received after 16:00 BST (4pm) on the day of the final deadline will not be considered.

1. To be eligible to apply for the Postgraduate Scholarship (Artificial Intelligence conversion course), applicants must:
   • have been offered a place on NTU’s MSc Artificial Intelligence course for September 2024
   • have the UK as country of permanent residence
   • meet the nationality or residency status criteria to qualify for a UK Postgraduate Masters' loan
2. Please do not send your scholarship application before or with your application to study at NTU. You must have received an offer of a place on an eligible course and been allocated an NTU ID number before submitting your scholarship application.
3. This scholarship is open to applicants who have the UK as their country of permanent residence only. Please visit www.ntu.ac.uk/internationalscholarships for information on scholarships available to international students.
4. Students who receive sponsorship (i.e. tuition fees are being paid for in part or in full) by their employers, government, or a funding body are not eligible to apply for this scholarship award.
5. Applicants are only able to apply for this scholarship once per academic year per offer. The offer of a place must be on an eligible course.
6. Applicants may only apply for a scholarship if they are due to enrol on the first year of their course in September 2024.
7. Applications received after 16:00 BST (4pm) on the day of the deadline will automatically be considered for the next available deadline where possible. For example, application forms submitted after the first deadline and before the final deadline will be considered for the second deadline.
8. Applications received after 16:00 BST (4 pm) on the day of the final deadline will not be considered.
9. This application form is for eligible postgraduate taught Masters courses only. Please do not use this form to apply for undergraduate scholarships or research funding.
10. The scholarship will be awarded as a cash bursary, which will be paid in termly instalments directly to you. If you are awarded a scholarship, the first instalment will be made once you are enrolled on the course.
11. The scholarship is not transferable and will not be awarded if you choose to defer your entry to a different start date, or if you choose to transfer to a different course at NTU. Applicants must reapply for the scholarship.
12. If you change your mode of study only (full-time/full-time with placement/part-time) prior to the start of the course but remain on the same course, you will not need to reapply for the scholarship.
13. Applicants will be informed whether they have (or have not) been awarded a scholarship (and of the value of the scholarship awarded) within four weeks of the application deadline date.
14. The scholarship will be awarded when an applicant accepts their scholarship offer, accepts and meets the conditions of their course offer, and enrols on the course. If you do not formally accept the scholarship by the given deadline, the University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship and award it to another candidate.
15. Scholarships are competitive and selection is based on the information provided on the scholarship application form. It is, therefore, of great importance that you give your scholarship statements careful thought and preparation, and that you refer to the criteria provided.
16. If your scholarship application is successful, we may ask you to become a student ambassador, or appear in online and/or printed marketing materials for the University. For example, providing a student profile and a photograph which may be used to promote the University and the University’s scholarship schemes and courses. Your name and course will be printed in the Scholarships Awards Celebration Programme. 17. In the event that a student fails to complete the course where the scholarship has been applied to their fees and chooses to retake all or part of the course or undertake another eligible course, then the scholarship will not be applied again, regardless of the reason for doing so.
18. In the event that a student fails to complete a course and the scholarship was not applied (i.e. the student did not pay any of the tuition fees, or the tuition fees were reimbursed in full) then subject to the eligibility criteria, the scholarship may be available should the student choose to retake the course or undertake another eligible course. Students must re-apply for the scholarship if it is still available.
19. In the event that a student who has been awarded a scholarship withdraws from the course or their studies are terminated (by the student or by NTU), they will not be eligible to receive further instalments.
20. Following a period of suspension and upon resumption of studies, NTU may, at its discretion, review and, where appropriate, reinstate a student’s entitlement to the scholarship or bursary.
21. If a student is required to repeat an academic year of study (either in full or in part), the scholarship will be suspended during the repeat year of study and no payments will be made.
22. Students are obliged to inform NTU immediately of any changes in their circumstances which may affect their entitlement to receive the scholarship. In the event of failure by a student to notify NTU promptly of any such changes, NTU will be entitled to recover any payments made or adjust (as appropriate) the scholarship amount.
23. This scholarship does not exclude students from applying for other funds or scholarships but if awarded the AI Postgraduate Conversion Scholarship no other scholarship, award or discount can be applied for the same course and academic year.
24. The University’s decision in all matters relating to the scholarship is final.
