Tuition fees
Find out exactly what you’ll need to pay if you’re considering postgraduate study.
How much does a postgraduate or professional degree cost?
The amount you’ll pay can vary a lot. We review our fees every year, and the fees and how / when you pay them depend on your course, how long you’re studying and how you choose to study.
You can see what the current fees are for the course(s) you’re interested in on each course page.
How much does a research degree cost?
We also review and set tuition fees for research degrees on an annual basis. The amount you’ll pay will depend on the duration of your course and the mode of study.
For Science and Technology projects, you may also have to pay an annual Bench Fee to cover extra costs such as facilities and equipment.
What if I’m an international or EU student? Will I pay the same?
This section is for UK home students only. Please see our international student pages for international and EU postgraduate fees together with information on how to pay.
How do I pay my fees?
You can pay your tuition fees all in one go, with a credit or debit card, or you can apply to set up an instalment plan. This way, you can make three equal payments throughout the year to spread the cost of the fees.
If your fee is less than £500, you’ll need to pay in full at or before enrolment. For most courses, however, you can pay fees of £500 or more by instalments.
You can pay your course fees via our online payment system. You’ll need your NTU ID, which you’ll find on your confirmation letter that you received via email and in the post.
You’ll also find further information about paying fees here, including details of instalment arrangements.
Can I get a loan to pay my tuition fees?
Eligible students under 60 can apply for a government loan to help towards their course and study costs. Find out more about these loans and other ways of funding your studies on our funding page.
