Why study Photography at NTU?

Today’s photographers are much more than just picture-makers. We shape the world with our narratives. We shift opinions and move people to action. We seduce, we excite. We use pictures to communicate across languages and beyond words.

At NTU we are rethinking photography. We’re asking what it means in an age where everyone with a smart mobile device is a potential witness, photographer and publisher. Working together with industry leaders we are learning new skills for new environments, creating new experiences for new audiences and all the time building on NTU’s rich heritage for analogue photographic craftsmanship and our reputation for professional excellence.

Where will a Photography degree from NTU take you?

Throughout your time at NTU you will be encouraged to discover audiences for your work, build connections and engage directly with the industry. You will be an active participant in our international guest lecture series, and you will help us to shape and grow our learner-centred approach to teaching and learning.

Whether you choose to specialise in Sports or Fashion, or join our world-renowned Photography course first established in 1934, you’ll also be able to add a year studying abroad and/or complete a work experience placement for an additional Diploma or Certificate in Professional Practice. However you choose to design your degree experience at NTU, you’ll be graduating as part of a network of alumni who span the globe and populate every aspect of the creative visual industries.
