If you would like to chat to a HealthyNTU Champion you can find our champions at our latest activities on our events page. These activities often include things rock painting, therapy dog sessions, nature walks, craft sessions and socials in our HealthyNTU Den and are a nice relaxing way to meet others and ask the champions about what wellbeing support is available.
Feeling nervous about attending an activity alone or for the first time? Our HealthyNTU team can organise a meet up with one of our champions just before to help you feel more relaxed. To organise this or to find out more, please email healthyntu@ntu.ac.uk.

Priyanka Carsane
"Being a HealthyNTU Champion at NTU has genuinely shaped my time at university in a way I did not expect. Over the two years, I’ve grown a lot in confidence and communication, not just in structured settings, but in how I listen, respond, and connect with people in real moments.
One of the most meaningful parts of the role has been being trusted to contribute ideas and actively help shape mental health activities for students. From writing wellbeing blogs to being involved in planning, promoting and facilitating wellbeing events, it felt rewarding to see ideas develop into something that could actually make a difference for students across NTU. Having the space to share my perspective and know it was valued made the experience feel really impactful.
More than anything, it’s been a role that’s helped me develop as a person, learning how to speak up more confidently, support others in a thoughtful way, and be more intentional about wellbeing in everyday university life. It’s something I’ll genuinely carry with me beyond NTU, and I’m really grateful to have been part of it."

"My time as a HealthyNTU Champion was amazing, impactful, and fun in ways I didn't expect at all. It was through this role that I found out how much the university provides help for students in niche and fun ways, particularly the therapy dogs. Dave the Ridgeback, and Paddy & Gunnie provided amazing visits every month that I was delighted to help with. It was amazing seeing how much people benefited from just a 2 hour session, not just by being with the dogs, but also by meeting people."

Emily Bell
"This role has been one of the best parts of being a student so far and I would encourage anyone and everyone to join.
It has provided me with so many amazing opportunities, for example leading nature walks, supporting dog therapy sessions, providing students with advice at NTU stalls and designing and running my own events like journal making.
Every event increases my confidence in talking to people as well as giving me great experience that I can add to my CV. I came to university with no work experience due to poor health but because of this pressure free role that you can work around your own schedule, I now have loads!
Training for the role is provided at the start so no experience is needed and I believe the training is so important and generally helpful in all areas of life such as supporting friends. Staff are also always on hand to help you if needed so you are never alone. You get to work with other champions and form friendships."
