Your NTU student email

Access your student email account and receive important updates about the University and your course.

Every enrolled student has an NTU email account. Your email address will be firstname.lastnamestartyear@my.ntu.ac.uk.

Your NTU email account is the primary method of communication between you and the University used by:

• your course tutors to send important information
• the University to send you information regarding fees and funding
• NTU Student Communications to tell you more about what is happening around the University

If you’re logged onto a University PC, you’ll find Microsoft Outlook in the Start menu of our computers. You can access your University email account from anywhere, on or off campus – you can also view it directly in your MyNTU app, and NOW.

Use the Outlook Address Book to find the email addresses of NTU students and staff.

You should check your NTU email account regularly to make sure you don't miss out on important information.

Personalise your notifications to reduce unwanted emails

Reduce unwanted email notifications to save time and make your important information easier to find.

Customise the notifications you get from NOW

1. Click your username and then select 'notifications'.
2. You can now change the following settings:
   1. Contact method (input the email address you want notifications to go to.)
   2. Summary of activity (control how often you receive summaries of the activity in your Learning Rooms)
   3. Instant notifications (set individual notification preferences for each learning room-related component)
   4. Customise notifications (choose whether to allow future learning rooms to send you notifications)
   5. Manage my learning rooms exclusions (stop receiving notifications from specific learning rooms)
3. After reviewing all the details, click 'save'.

Customise the notifications you get from MS Teams

1. Open the Microsoft Teams desktop app or log in online.
2. Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Then select 'settings'.
4. In the settings menu, click on the  notifications tab.
5. You will then be able to set your preferences on notifications such as messages, sounds, mentions, chats and channels, meetings and more.
