NTU Alumni make presenting debuts on BBC Radio 1

Cal Carthy and Kerrie Coshan were two of the 33 new faces that took over the airwaves on BBC Radio 1 during the festive period.
Kerrie hosted Radio 1 Anthems while Cal headed up Radio 1 Dance.
BBC Radio 1 put a call out to DJs and presenters back in October 2020 in the search for new talent and many of the selected presenters have come from an unconventional background to find themselves with a spot on the radio show.
Kerrie studied MA Broadcast Journalism at NTU and was also a presenter on Fly FM, NTU’s radio station. Back in 2018, she experienced great success with her fellow Fly FM presenters, scooping five trophies at the Student Radio Association Awards.
Beginning his studies at NTU in 2014, Cal has since worked as a videographer at Brentford football club and is now working on the Video and Digital team for TalkSport.
